Wheat Field, 1940

Photograph by Florence Betz

Broad sloping wheat field, with barn, house and windmill in the background

Florence Betz (nee Needham) took this picture on a Sunday drive, with a little square Brownie camera. Faith James, her daughter, believes that that was in either 1940 or 1941, and thinks it was taken between Bucklin and Ford, Kansas (in Ford County). Mrs. Betz was called "Flossie" by all the family, and died in 1987 at age 94.
